Sekenani Camp is situated on the boundary of the Masai Mara National Reserve at the very heart of the big game country in southern Kenya. Comprised of fifteen exceptionally well-designed tents, it is one of smallest permanent tented camp in the Maasai Mara. It is known for it's magnificent setting, excellent cuisine and what are probably the most comfortable tents in Africa.

Sekenani Camp is operated in conjunction with twenty six Maasai families who have a share in the business. It is the logistical center for a community development project developing infrastructure for health-care, veterinary services, education and clean water for people living around the Masai Mara National Reserve.

About Sekenani Camp

• Simple elegance is the Sekenani style.
• Sekenani Camp is built at the source of the Sekenani River which rises from a rock pool at the east end of the camp and forms the stream, which flows in front of each tent.
• The tents themselves are large and raised off the ground on platforms.
• Each one is secluded and set into the bush in such a way as to ensure privacy.
• The en suite bathroom replete with a full-length bath, make these among the most beautifully appointed tents in Africa.

Culinary and Dining Experience At Sekenani Camp

• A suspension bridge connects the guest tents with the dining room and bar area. Here, it is the turn of Sekenani Camp's talented chefs to entertain you with a variety of freshly prepared dishes and a well stocked bar.
• In the evening a log fire is set on the wide veranda in front of the dining room. Here guests enjoy a 'sundowner' before dinner and listen to the sounds of Masai Mara National Reserve's birds and other bio-diversity.

Activities At Sekenani Camp

• Day game drives.
• Walking safari in the hills surrounding the camp is also part of the Sekenani experience for those who would like to get some exercise. Guests are escorted by Maasai guides who demonstrate their extensive knowledge of plants and animals while surrounded by spectacular landscapes in every direction. Over two hundred species of birds have been identified within one kilometer of the camp so, for those who don't wish to go so far, even a short stroll in the immediate vicinity is bound to be interesting.
• Picnic breakfasts and lunches are easily arranged in the Masai Mara National Reserve. You may wish to have a private sundowner with delicious canapιs up on the rocks overlooking the valley or a more formal bush-dinner. Both can be laid on with prior arrangement.
